Terms of Sale & Shipping Policy

Please make your reservation early so you can get the kid of your choice. Once availability is established, an animal may be reserved  from us by sending a $150 deposit for each animal ordered, with the remainder of the purchase price due within two weeks after notification of a reserved kid’s birth.
Reservations/Deposits will not be accepted for future year kidding seasons, they will only be accepted once our breeding schedule is published. Animals should be shipped or picked up no later than six weeks of age to avoid the boarding fees that we will charge after that time.  We love having people come see us to fetch their animal, but, we are happy to air freight kids to buyers if that is preferred or necessary.

If a buyer choose a kid that has been born or, in the case of an adult doe or buck, payment in full is due after the animal has been offered for sale and accepted by the buyer.

At the time you send payment, please include the name, complete address, zip code of the person(s) whose name(s) will appear on the application and ADGA membership number, if any for registration application form. Checks or money orders should be made out to (Larese Simmons) dba Crown Creek Farm.

We award reservations based on the order deposits are post marked.  If a reservation is changed to a different animal, previous reservations for that animal take priority. (Deposit / Reservations are only applicable to the current kidding year) and non-refundable unless, we are unable to fill the reservation.  We recommend, but do not require, a first and second choice per deposit. First-choice reservations are given preference.  If we have extra kids born, they will be offered first to customers whose reservations could not be filled.

Prices quoted are for pre-ordered kids only and only, applicable to the current kidding season.  Kid prices are subject to change on any breeding, each year as animals are appraised, achieve show wins and milk production awards.  Kids not pre-ordered will reevaluated at birth, reevaluated on an on-going basis and the selling price revised after birth as they grow and develop.  Cost of labor, feeding, vaccines, worming, coccidia preventives, and other will be considered in the reevaluation and price revision process.

Usually, we notify buyers when kids are born, but don’t release the kid for purchase until we have determined it is of satisfactory quality and -in the case of first fresheners- that the dam’s udder and milk volume is satisfactory.  This may take a week or more.

Animals that remain unpaid for after six weeks (unless special arrangements have been agreed to by Crown Creek Farm) may be resold to another buyer and any monies paid forfeited. We are not financially responsible for the medical expenses of a purchased animal either before or after it leaves our care – though we make diligent efforts to maintain each animal’s health.

In the event that air-shipped, we do so from the New Orleans, LA and in some cases, Gulfport, MS airports, there will be an added fee of $75 for transport to the airport.  State required or requested laboratory (health) tests and interstate health certificates are the financial responsibility of the buyer, as are the transporting kennels and any vet care needed for animals not yet picked up or shipped (prior to time of shipping).
We will provide the registration certificates and transfers to ADGA members following the shipment of your kid(s) and after the final balance of the shipping costs have been paid in full.

All out of state ground shipments also require a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) for travel to the destination state (Within the Continental United States) CVI will be issued in compliance of the animal import requirements applicable to the state of destination.  Due to the uncertain nature of professional or 3rd party ground transport companies, they are accepted on a case by case basis only and must be approved by us prior to transport.  We will not be held liable for any health related issues once animals leave our farm.  All animals will leave in excellent health with a valid CVI.  All costs related to ground transport, are the responsibility of the buyer.

We reserve the right to select animals for our herd’s needs before filling purchase orders.  We also require 10 straws of semen to be made available to us at the cost of collection from any buck that we sell, should we request them.

Buyers may, if a reserved animal is either not born or is retained by Crown Creek Farm LLC, move the reservation to another, available animal or have it refunded in full.  However, no refunds will be made if a reservation is cancelled by the buyer after it is made.

Where not otherwise stated and agreed to by and between the buyer and seller, we follow the recommended trade practices suggested by the American Dairy Goat Association published in their guidebook, constitution and Bylaws.
